Be the Tortoise AND the Hare
Everyone know the story of the Tortoise and the Hare. It is a classic morality tale in which the moral of the story is “Slow and Steady Wins the Race.” The reason the tortoise wins the race however is not that slow and steady, by definition, wins races, but because the faster runner was over confident and blind to his own hubris. Of course, fast and steady would win every time if the racer didn’t stop and nap during the race.
Stephen Gilligan, in classes he teaches about Ericksonian Hypnosis, teaches that the Unconscious Mind has the ability to appreciate a “BOTH/AND” logic base. This is different from the Conscious Mind in that the Conscious is pretty well limited to an “EITHER/OR” logic base.
SO what if we used that crazy wisdom and began to allow for thinking we could be, in effect, BOTH the Tortoise AND the Hare? Taking the best of both and combining them together?
Isn’t it nice to know you can enjoy BOTH at the same time?
